NWA Excitement
New Word Alive is just around the corner. I wish I could say that about the geographical location of the event.
I actually cannot wait. Most of my Christian friends are going. Jesus well be there that's the best bit about it. As an added bonus my mates DC, JP and TV will also be preaching God willing. For anyone who isn't familiar with the code of Sussex CU I'm talking about Don Carson (preaching on 1 John), John Piper, and Terry Virgo. What a line up! I've been commissioned by HB to make up a joke featuring the three. My thinking cap is on. I've got till Monday should be enough time.
Here's ten other things I'm looking forward to concerning NWA:
1) Inevitable banter with the CU boys
2) Discussing of Romans 9 with Povey
3) Someone recording what I say when I'm asleep
4) Visiting Wales and trying to pronounce 'Pwllheli'. Then being corrected by John Price.
5) Meeting up with friends who don't live in Brighton
6) Playing Pit with Sarah
7) Being an Anglican for 5 days...(I'm going with BH)
8) Trying to get into the promotional video for NWA 09. HB and others got in the one for this year
9) Finding the answer to the question: 'I wonder if DC will preach on the part of 1 John 5v7 that doesn't appear in some modern manuscripts?'.
10) Knowing that Jesus promises to be with His followers and bless us even though we don't deserve it.

Revolution 2008
It's done. The Revolution promotional vid is complete. Enjoy.
Revolution is a week of events organised by the CU to introduce people to Christ. All events are open to anyone regardless of belief.

Children of a REVOLUTION
Four people, one computer, lots of Bono. Hoppers, Brien, Isle of Farley, and myself were editing the promo video for the Revolution Mission Week last night.
It started well mucho pizza, strong coffee and quaint conversation about the elusive hamster. I like being a brother around my sisters. After the social activity we decided to put our hands to the plough and walk the narrow path into Brien's not so warm room. Perched around the PC we all witnessed the amazing talent of Mary's editing skills. The biggest combat fought was the decision of the titles. Hopkins went for the scrolling Star Wars theme, to which I concluded that she was the geek I predicted.
Much fun was had. Hours passed, coffee was drunk, and the computer crashed. I felt particular awkward at various points throughout the evening when the girls thought it 'cool' to burst out in 'High School Musical' song. My wrath was propitiated by biting and grinding my teeth together. That last comment was a joke. I do actually enjoy people singing HSM especially when they close their eyes and sway frantically-Hopp's seemed to have mastered this art. I reckon she had been practising.
We all laughed at the amusing material. Kite man, the Carve's profound comment about how people in CU never see each other during the week(?!), and obviously the famous 'walking bum scene' brought much comedy.
It is now finally completed and if I can say myself looking good. God was with us, giving us Bible verses to use and generally blessing us with edifying conversation and love.
The video will be shown on Monday the 28th at CU: 7pm in The Meeting House. I'm also planning to post it on my blog, and no doubt it will be lurking around facebook and maybe even youtube.

Christmas is rapidly approaching
You know it's the festive time of year when HB, Carve and myself put aside our theological differences and become slighly 'un-clenched' (still not really sure what this means) dressing up in our dusty elf outfits to put on a show.
After many rehersals and mince pies we got our dance just right. The full version is here.
